you should try the flo pro force mufflers from summit. for laughs i put my stock headers upside down and put the mufflers to the headers. quiet enough at idle with f cam and mellow but mean at the same time when revved. i put them up to the long tubes though and much louder but still not too bad. but with the thumper heads, they are quite a bit louder now. this is without the o/r bassani x pipe. the mufflers are only 30 bucks each and are built just like flowmaster. you should look into them. they are great.

I hate my quiet exhaust I have now. 5.0s are supposed to be loud and sound good.

I think I'm gonna pick up a cheap (brand new, ebay) Flowmaster catback soon because I can't stand the quietness.

Don't you ever listen to CDs or something to overcome the drone?

I have shorties, offroad H and flow american thunder catback, so its LOUD. I got pulled over sunday for it and good thing it was a lady, she was nice and cool about. She said "just make sure you get that muffler (yea singular LOL) fixed before someone else gives ya the "gig." obviously i was nice and kind to her and she was teasing me about having a car almost as old as me. I sometimes want louder, sometimes i want quieter...lol, but i sure as hell love the sound.

I have Flowmaster 40's dumped.. and am now going back to my spintech side exhaust mufflers because I just missed the bad@ss sound of spintech.. and they didnt drone like my flows do... funny thing is i never had drone on my flows until i put my LT's in...

i Love the sound of my mufflers either way.. unless ive been driving all day.. then i get a headache.. and right now I am kind of pissed because I blew out my 12' sub.. and now have to drive with no bass.. so I hardly listen to music for now.. MAN the drone kills me!.. other than that.. the louder & NASTIER the better! Man I Love my spintechs.. puttin them back on this weekend. You're right Aaron.. after a while of driving.. I wish my car was quiet SOMETIMES

Once again.. dont get me wrong.. I Love My Flowmaster 40's dumped with the LT's..
I just think my Spintechs sound a whole lot more intimidating!

I couldnt/wouldnt give up the sound my car makes. I use to be in the quiet camp but once my buddy got his 5.0 notch I was hooked...Cats are for pussies Although I have a Corola & a Grand Cherokee Larado as a DD so I have my quiet commutes when I need them

You have not heard loud, till youve heard an SLP catback with an off road X-Pipe. My entire exhaust on my turbo car is like 3 feet. I could EASILY hear this 02 GT that was behind me over my car with that setup. Once you have loud, you want quiet again

Yuh, my car is loud as hell. BBK shorties, o/r h-pipe and flowmaster 1-chambers dumped. Not thats its breathing better with the heads and cam its LOUD. I love it though. Although, it sux on trips and stuff. I've been thinking about going back to 2-chambers, but putting a cut-out on each side so I can be loud when I want to, ha

I like having loud exhaust on my mustangs, my neighbors hate it. It can get a little old but thats why I have a nice and quiet truck to drive everyday.

I think there's something terribly wrong with a 5.0 or a Mustang in general that you can't hear BEFORE you see it. That doesn't mean it has to be obnoxiously loud, but i think they should all speak with authority. My car borderlines more on the obnoxious side (MAC LT's, Dr. Gas X pipe and 1 Chamber Flowmasters "backhalfed" with no dumps) but when i drive my car it's a whole experience, i don't drive it because i want a cushy and comfy quiet ride, i drive it because i want to have fun getting from A to B. When i start it to go to work (i work 3rd though) i usually set off most of the car alarms "warning signals" in the lot, but they usually don't go totally off unless i tach out while i'm next to them.

If i drive through a parking garage it's ALL over....i have some wierd health issues and i have pretty routine doc visits, and i have to see these insanely over priced doctors (neurologists and brain sugeons) so the parking garages are almost always filled with really expensive cars, i've even seen a few Rolls Royces, Ferraris and at least 2 Gallardos....so it's kind of a poor man's revenge when i set off all their alarms...lol

I wouldn't say i'm young, i am only 26 but guys i've lived a F'in hard 26 years (hence the health issues) so to me having a crazy car is a way to cut lose and get rid of stress. If it pisses other people off, well they can try my shoes on before they judge me ya know?

Being loud is awesome. And if you have a hopped up high compression motor it is even better.

I pray to god my car could pop ear drums.
