Nah, I've had manual brakes though before. You ever driven a car with manual brakes?

Yeah, driven a few cars with manual brakes and it's not so bad. The problem I have now is that the engine doesn't create enough vacuum for the booster, so it's like driving around with manual brakes half the time. I have 2 vacuum canisters on it, but it's only a bandaid and doesn't really get the job done. I've called around and no one seems to have any experience running a manual master cylinder along with the ABS unit. Everyone seems to agree that they can't see why it won't work, but can't find anyone who has actually tried it.

Ah, ok. Just making you were aware of how manual brake cars feel/drive. I don't mind them. I can't answer the original question, but like you said, I can't see why it wouldn't work. Is removing the ABS also not an option for you?

What kinda cam you running that it doesn't pull enough vacuum for the brakes? You can get an electric vacuum pump (IIRC, some 80's model Buicks and the like had them) and keep your power brakes, if that's something that might interest you? Not sure if it's a possibility with our power steering systems, but you could also look into doing the hydraboost that the later model Cobras had, as another option.

Honestly I don't know why the car pulls so little vacuum. It doesn't have any vacuum leaks. It pulls 9.5" of vacuum at idle, and the cam is kind of medium sized, it really isn't that big. I have a Trick Flow 3 cam (.574/.595 236/248 110) .

I have considered hydroboost. Actually all the 4.6 cars have it, not just the Cobra. That damn motor is so big there is no room for a brake booster. The reason I want to go with the manual system is that I am looking for the simplest route, with the least number of things to go wrong. I like the ABS and I really don't see any reason to remove it. I just found out last week that Strange is actually going to make a 31 and 33 spline axle for our cars this spring.
