Well I've got a power rack that has started to leak and the pump whines a little bit so I was thinkin of switchin to a manual rack. I was wondering what people thought of these. Do you just run a shorter belt and also is there a lot of effort needed to steer?
You save about 30lbs off the fornt end, remove a parasitic load off the belt, and if you still have A/C, all you need is a shorter belt. Without A/C you might need an idler pulley over there or a standard rotation waterpump with the March alternator bracket. Some just flip the tensioner.
It will be harder to steer when the car is moving slow, but not that bad, remember some cars dont' have powersteering factory.
