I have a high 12 second stang, leaking power steering fluid like crazy, not to into the power steering feel on a drag car either, should i go with a manual steering? i drive the car about 1,000 miles a year, skinnys on the front, is it worth it? what would the whole ordeal cost me? thanks.

Just take the pump and lines off, drain all the fluid out of the rack and plug the holes in the rack. It works fine...It is a little hard to steer, (But I havent driven it with skinnies up front, Only my 9.5 inch cobra r's with 245 rubber on them). I never had any trouble, Like I said, Just a little harder to steer...but hey look at the bright side...your arms will get a workout!

Yeah Factory Five Cobra Kit cars use power steering racks without the power steering stuff hooked up. You should look in to their P/S elimination method and copy it.

I think they pull the P/S lines and plug the hole with cork plugs. You gotta have some sort of lubrication in the rack or it will end up binding up.
