Ok so my 65 is a original 6 cylinder car and now has a v8 and has Granada disc brakes up front, my only problem is when I come to turn it feels really hard to turn even when the car is rolling, is there anything I can do to rid myself of this so that I can finally let my wife drive the car, or is this how its supposed to be. Ive had numerous cars and trucks before and never had where the steering is this hard. and Im kinda thinking of keeping it manual or doing the electric assist but as of now I would know if there is something I should try now?

There are a few things to consider with manual steering such as tire width, steering wheel diameter and steering box ratio. Your box could be 16:1 and swapping a 20:1 box could help considerably. Skinnier tires and a larger diameter steering wheel can also help. Here is a link with tag codes, ratios and the corresponding car it comes from to help find something if you were to go that route.
