Hey guys,

I plan to change out the trans fluid (original t-45). But all I can find around here is automatic transmission fluid. Is it alright to use that? Or is it different stuff compared to a manual trans fluid?

well considering that ford recommends automatic transmission fluid, then thats what you should use. we usually put in either Dex3 or Mercon V in all the manual transmissions that come into work, except for the Mazdas that recommend 80w90.

I used Pennsoil Synchromesh. Seems to do OK.

Have you ever thought about reading your owner's manual?

Give some synthetic GM Synchromesh a try. It made the most noticeable difference in the way my car drove, based on different fluids.

I use Amsoil ATF.

As far as fluids go, if it starts with an A you can't go wrong.
