Wow there have been so many little problems after my 347 install it is drivin me nuts. They are nothing too big i just wanna drive the thing. So far over the past week and a half i have only been able to put like 18 miles on it. Ill list them for your pleasure

1. First long drive the dizzy hold down came loose leaving me stranded. had to get it towed home because i couldnt get it to start. No biggie but lame thats why i have AAA though.

2. Im freakin leaking oil from the back of my lower intake. I tried putting more RTV back there but it didnt do the trick. I have another set of lower gaskets and it looks like i might be tearing off the lower so i can fix that damn leak.

3. Put in a line lock and now my ABS light is on and half of the time when i come to a stop the brakes ABS on me. I did it just like i had seen several pics of it. The line lock does work but i guess its not done right.

4. Took the car to be aligned and they said my steering wheel was too far off. Its basically 180 out from where it should be but the steering shaft only connects one way. I dont see how i can change where its connected. Ill have to take it all apart from the back of the wheel too and see if i can some how get it closer. I need the damn alignment so i can actually start driving further and breaking it in.

Anyway this is such a pain in the ass. I just wanna drive it! It sounds good and even though i havent been WOT i can feel that is has much more down low. Oh well i just gotta try to take it step by step and in a week or so ill be back to DD status. On the plus side now with my base twEECer tune the thing is already purring like a kitten.

END RANT

Sheesh John, that sucks. I seem to recall that it initially fired right up for ya. And if these are all the bugs you've found so far, that aint too bad at all.

Good luck with workin the bugs out. You'll have it all sorted out in a few days and be enjoying the cooler weather.

I hear what you're sayin. I havent driven my car since June due to the turbo install, which due to so many things going on in my life I've managed to spend about 3 days working on it since then. Then even after its all said and done this fall I plan to have to start with all the small annoying crap that you are dealing with. It's never ending.

YEah thing fired right up real nice but these things are annoying. I also had a little problem with the A/C but i fixed that. I might be abe to tackle the Steering thing tommorow night. As for the Line Lock problem im kinda lost i might just throw the stock line back and try to figure it out later because that is not safe at all.

after my last headgasket change, my lower leaks at the back also....i blame it on the cometic head gaskets not holding the manifold gaskets in place so i had to frig with it.....however im pretty lazy and have been driving my car for a while with an oil leak....i have to fix it soon.

Hey John

What was it you did to get your tune closer.

Seems like only a week or so ago ... you said it was not right

Call me lucky but my 347 started on the first try and has run like a champ since. I've put over 1,000 miles on it. I have one issue that's bugging the hell out of me. I think its a vacuum leak. Its got a little studder when getting off the throttle at low rpms (1200-1500 in 5th gear). It jerks me around turns. That's the only thing I'm chasing.

Good luck chasing your stuff down. When I had the blower on the stock motor I had all kinds of issues. I didn't drive it much and was discouraged just to look at it. With the new motor its fun again. You will feel the same afterwards too.

Hey Vibe

I love blowers as much as most others

but

ever notice how what you just said doesn't seem to come up much when peeps ask or talk about reliability, drivability, and the like with forced induction.

Heck ... a h/c/i combo requires a bit more maintenance than a stocker.

Just an observation
and
nothing more to it than that

Well the first thing i did was put both slopes to 30 and it ran much better. Then i did one run of the MAF curve through EA and made some small changes to it and it has been running real good. Rock solid idle and good driveability so far also starts up right away too.

That is great to hear John

Ain't it funny how sometimes the smallest change in the file can make such a big difference

Wish I had 50 more cubes

For those with oil leaks from the lower intake in the rear. Make sure to fill in the gaps where the head gasket does not reach the surface. I had to redo my lower intake because oil was leaking out of here and just enough to mess with my clutch. Make sure to get this area real good from the inside out with Ultra Black RTV. Once you do this, than you can put your bead on the front and back and do everything else you need to do.

Just to make sure, I don't mean to push some rtv in from the top to fill the crack, you need to go from inside the block and push it in there and seal it up good in all 4 corners from the headgasket to the surface. Than when your done, put some extra in those areas when running the bead.

Thanks to Rick91 GT for this information!!!
