my 87 has a maf conversion and i found my map sensor vacuum hose disconnected, and plugged off on the manifold side...

if im not mistaken, the maf eec still needs the map sensor, right?

codes arent giving me any map sensor errors, but the electrical connector is still connected to the sensor

anybody with some feedback as to what might be going on behind the scenes, id appreciate it. thanks

The MAP sensor is normally left unplugged so that it can get an ambient reading but I've yet to see a case where having that line plugged caused problems on a normally aspirated application. Then again, I've always lived in locations that were pretty close to seal level too.

The electric lines MUST be hooked up and the vac line SHOULD be open but not connected to anything.
