Did a mass air conversion on 88 put in A9L computer C&L 76mm mass air and still has stock throttle body. We do have a 24lb sampling tube for a 73mm, could this be problem? I unplugged maf sensor and it will idle for a few minutes then stalls. Could it be a maf sensor? I didn't do the optional wires on the instruction it is a used maf sensor. What can I clean it with? Any suggestions?

The sampling tube must match the injectors or you will have problems.

Optional wires? please explan.

See the Sticky "Help me create the Surging Idle Checklist" at the top of the forum for help with cleaning the MAF and how to check it for proper operation.

Put a new maf and MAS Air from advance and all is well. Still has a stall once in a while but no more rich condition.

did you run the red wire from the computer to under the drivers seats where the fuel rely is that clear up my idle. but they say it will have a little bit of a rough idle when you change over to mass air. are you runing the stock air box to the mass air or do you just have then filter off the mass air mine run like **** with just the filter at the end of mass air then i put the stock air box on it ran fine

the 73mm and 76mm use different sampling tubes. go to c&L's web site and you can see that on the chart.

The place I ordered the tube from for the c&L sent wrong tube, they sent me a 24lb for a 73mm instead of a 76mm.
I bought a stock maf and mas from Advance for a 92 GT (19lb) setup. It seems to be cured. with the stock motor. I have a GT40X motor sitting on the stand waiting for some parts to go along with it. ie: new x pipe and catback exhaust. The X motor is going to get a port matched typhoon upper and lower and 24 lb injectors
