Mass Air Flow sensor

I am lookin to buy a cold air intake system for my stang. Can i use the stock MAF when i am installin the cold air or do i have to buy one of those special ones to go with it? Does anyone have an answer to that? thanks!

it seems like from a few of the threads that you can just use the stock one but i too had the same question. I was just going to take it out and find out- i just bought stuff to make the CAI myself.

yea u can use stock one just take it out of the beutiful black box and bolt it up. lol

Yea, you can use the stock one, and I did for a while. But ... I just swapped to a Pro-M 80mm MAF and OH MY! What a huge difference! Maybe mine wasn't running right or tuned correctly ... i dunno. But by changing just the MAF, it feels like a totally different car. It's one of those things that really seem to make a difference on some cars - and doesn't do much on others.
