Well .... I just put this Summit O/R H on a few weeks ago. Now I have a massive exhaust leak on the passenger bank. The CEL came on today. This is because the o2 is not getting a proper reading, correct?

Me & a buddy are going to try to fix it in the morning. Hopefully it's just a stud that backed out. Anyone else have a similar problem?

I think Scott and John had fun with that same pipe (John might not even have the pipe anymore - I am not sure).

Good luck Justin.

Slow down there turbo! A CEL can mean ANYTHING! Although since it just came on with the installation of your mid-pipe, you can bet safely that it's the O2's, I'd still pull that code to see what it is.

You remembered to cap off the tube for the smog pipe right? Or reconnect it or something?

Had the same problem years ago when I still had shorties. The vibration from the pipes will eventually back the nut off of the stud and I bet that is your problem too. The best thing to do is get a lock washer or use a dab of blue loctite if that is your problem. The blue loctite is what I done and never had a problem after that. Just dont use red if you ever want to get it off again. Blue can be removed fairly easy and will keep the nut in place.

Yeah, I was planning on it ..... I really almost KNOW that's what it is. It came on as soon as I noticed the leak. It was not really gradual, but rather all of a sudden.

I did. I actually used heater hose to connect the smog tube (that I will eventually remove, possibly tomorrow). I don't think it's back that far anyway, as it is really loud on the passenger side when I pop the hood. It's not even really noticeable under the car (at idle).

I guess I'll see in the morning ......

I've had similar problems with my pacesetter H. Did you fasten the front first then move back to the rear? I had to use heater hose for the smug tube because it was not long enough....use small hose clamps on each end of the hose. Also check the connection between both pipes. I had to get mine welded at a muffler shop to stop leaks. After a week of driving, I always have to retorque the header bolts. Measure your old factory H at the top and compare to the new H and see if there is a difference in length. Sometimes the bends in the pipes are a little of. Good Luck!

The exhuast leak is probably the crossover tube slipping. Go down there and kick it together with your heel from both sides and drive it around the neighborhood and see if it sounds different.

Mine would always throw a code when the crossover slipped and opened up, I'm not sure why. I also have heater hose for the air tube which is holding up just fine.

But . . . I also have problems with the flanges bending once they heat up. I had to re-tighten the whole thing 3 or 4 times already. But everytime, the flanges bend alittle more. So you may have the same issue.

Although I can't wait to get rid of it, I do still have it. I fixed the slippage problem with two steel hose clamps chained together around the crossover and tightened really well. But one bad speed bump will tear those right off.

All fixed. Only took two minutes max, lol. The nut backed off the stud on the passenger side apparently from vibration. Thanks for the extra input guys!
