I've been busy the last few days, here's the answers to your questions:

1. It should bolt up, I rechecked and found it was a 97 ranger master cylinder. It had the see- through reservoir and ports on the DRIVERS side, but it is more expensive, the reservoir probably does not come with it if you get it at a parts store and the fittings are metric.

2. You're right residual valves for disc brakes are not needed for firewall mount MCs, I was told to use them by a guy who usually builds early model hot rods. But I believe they are used in drum brake systems regardless of MC mounting height.

Does anyone know if the drum brake residual valves are built into the combination valve on 4 wheel manual drum cars?

If so I'll setup my system like this:

(I modified the drawing found on this page: http://www.hot-rod.com.au/builder/brakes.html)

Thanks Rollins..

Another question. If I choose to hold off on putting discs in the back can I still use the SVO (4-wheel disc) MC and dial in the Wilwood prop valve to make the drums work in back nad discs up front?

You shouldn't need residual valves.
