Max HP from IHI?

I have seen this question concerning the t3 b4, but not the IHI. I like the fact that the IHI spools faster.

I currently have a Lg VAM, LA3 ECU, 35 lb Inj., stock head, intake, and bottom end from an 88 TC.

Mods are 3" mandrel exhaust downpipe to tailpipe, CCAI, and gillis boost valve @ 17psi.

Future mods include FMIC, BOB's header, Ported intakes, A237 cam, and home ported head.

Am I wasting my time with any of these mods if I stick with the IHI?

I know that Reeve over on TurboFord ran a 13.9X in his IHI powered TC. If I remember correctly he was pushing 20 psi. I stay stick with it and see how much you can get out of it. Just as long as you put a good IC on there...

yeah there's people going fast with them. With spray it would be easy to take a pinto into the 12's with an IHI.
I've never messed with one but people have told me the over 20-21 psi the T3 just becomes ineffecient, where anything over 18PSI the IHI comes apart.

I've got a buddy that swaps out turbo's often. He runs an IHI for some autox's in his SVO. The car has all the porting/good stuff mods done.
I like it, it has immediate off idle boost, you can hear the turbo spooling at idle. I really like the torque and pull of the thing. No such thing as spoolup with it.
