i think i screwed up the threads in the front of the crankshaft. i think i have heard of a repair kit for this? anyone heard of it and where can i get one. i would hate to pull the engine out if i dont have to. i am going to try and retap the hole and see if it will work again.

I had to re-tap mine and it came out ok. I was also told by one of the machinists where I work that a heli-coil(did I spell that right) would work as well.

i blew the hole out, got all the trash out and ran a tap in it and it cleaned it up. ran a bolt in and it seems to thread in and out good. it feels like it will hold torque.

i am going to make a tool to install the balancer without the bolt.
i was stupid and always used the bolt to draw in the balancer, which may have been my problem. i will get the balancer completely on and then thread the bolt in.

i guess i made it out lucky lol would have sucked.
