Every once and while I will go to start my car and it was start and make a terrible loud noise and it will then finished the loud noise and then it will keep trying to crank the engine and then sometimes it will eventually start the car or it will keep trying to crank and you either have to wait until it stops and then start the car again or you can unplug the negative from the battery and it stops.

Then when it is all done most of the time when you try to start the car after it happens it will start with no problem.

Any ideas?

Yeah... change the solenoid and don't allow your starter to continually crank or you'll be changing that as well (if it's not already too late).

I agree with Daggar that is sounds like the starter solenoid. Are you saying that it keeps cranking even after you move the key from the start position? You might want to check the wiring to the starter solenoid. You should only have 12v at the wire that goes to the small post when the key is in the crank position. If its just that the starter makes a loud squeal right after the engine starts then it might be the bendix of the starter.

I believe the wiring is fine. I changed the starter solenoid out last month and it was fine for like 2 weeks. that wire does have 12v going to it. im not sure whats making the noise. exactly what i know i posted in my first post.

The key can be removed from the car completely and it will continue doing what i said in the first post.

If the key is removed and you are still getting 12v to the little wire then you have a problem with your ignition switch. If you don't have 12v to that little wire and the starter is still cranking then you have a sticking solenoid.

Changing a solenoid does not guarantee that the one you just got is a good one.

This is why you see many Ford guys with two solenoids screwed to the engine bay. The 2nd is a spare.
