get a t splitter from the local plumbing store and install them both iff you want. just make sure it is pipe thread and install some sealent on it.

I dont recommend a Tee fitting for any temp gauges. Because both senders are stuck in a tee, and not in the real-time flow of fluid, the gauges tend to react with radiant temp changes (because they are not succepted to the flow of coolant, but rather sitting in an alcove of coolant).

I would use the stock location for the new gauge (it is the best location) and even buy an aftermarket t-stat housing for the stocker (if the stat sticks closed, that gauge wont tell you, but it sucks anyhow). One can use a chrome FRPP t-stat housing (under 30 bucks) but they can leak if some chrome is not scraped off. Or AZ/DAP sell cast housings for 10 bucks that rust. I run the latter.

Good luck.

I have a autometer water temp gauge that was with the car when I got it, but haven't ever decided to hook it up? Will it replace the stock location, or what do I need to do to install it?

If you wish to do it cheap, put your sender/sensor in the stock location for the new gauge, and use the port on the left rear of the lower manifold (currently a plug is residing there) for the stock sender.
The port on the left rear is not as accurate as the one on the front, so the two gauge may read differently, but whatever is plumbed into the stock-location port will be the most accurate.
