Hello, friends-
I have a 90 Fox ragtop that I have converted to a carbureted induction system.
I really want to replace my Lokar throttle cable with old fashioned mechanical linkage. I have had a Lokar cable pull the end off where it attaches to the carb and it left me stranded. (I saw one do the same thing to Jay Leno during a test drive on Jay Leno's garage and was like, "yep.")
Is there a kit available anywhere from a manufacturer that maybe y'all know of?
Will I have to fabricate one from a 60s Mustang pedal assembly and Summit parts?

Pretty much. Try Speedway Motors for stuff to build a linkage setup.

Not sure what your carb set up is but would a cable from a 1985 Mustang GT work?

He wants a solid rod linkage like the early cars had.
I think a cable from a 85 or any model with a carb would work.

Suggested the OEM cable as an alternative to the Lokar cable being the end of it is not connected to the cable via a set screw.

I have Lokar’s on both of my cars and have zero issues.
