Media blaster's around DFW?

I'm looking for a good media blaster around the DFW (Dallas, TX) area. I want get the stang done inside and out. Can anyone reccomend somewhere?

Doug's Autocraft in Irving does plastic media blasting.
972-721-1415.

Stripco does soda blasting. They can strip the exterior of a car in about 2 hours. I used equipment from these guys when I stripped my 49 Chevy truck. The nice thing about soda is that it will not harm rubber, glass or chrome. But you will need to neutralize it with a vinegar/water bath.

Metal Rehab does chemical dipping. That is the way I am going on my 69 Fastback. But you need to remove EVERYTHING from the car.

I had mine done inside and out with sand. its not a problem as long as they are carefull.

Sorry cant help you with the Dallas area but its just a thought that will save you quite a bit of cash as sand blasting is cheaper than media blasting.

how much did you pay to do your car in and out?

the bare shell was $400 inside and out (2.5 years ago) and all the removable parts (doors, fenders, hood, hinges, etc) was another $300 (6 months ago)

How did the body come out when done?

I've looked into sand but I heard that it can be very bad on the metal (warping, wear) and that media (plastic or shells) is much less harsh on the metal with the same end result. but yes it is about 1.5 to 2 times the price

I always prefer Soda blasting if you can have it done. Its a simple mix of water and soda, very safe and does not harm the metal and simply washes clean. Ive gone the sand blasting/ medie blasting route as well. This can be done wrong and damage the metal because the tech doing the stripping does not take his time, or know what the heck he is doing. But they can be both done right and yield great results for a decent price. The down side is that you will be spending alot of time cleaning up sand or media from every little crevis of your car and it never seem to stop finding it, even a year down the road I still had sand in my car. I have never done a chemical dip but I hear it works great because it gets into every part of the car and strips everything from rust to pain to bondo. But you have to properly " detoxify" your car or the actuall chemical can ooze out from joints and seams after the paint job is applied and cause some serious damage. I would just have to say, go with what you can afford and just make sure the people you hire to do the job have done it before and can do it agin well.

how much do you think Soda would cost me if I stripped the car and brought it to them. All of it, Inside, outside, underneath, hood, fenders...etc

It was something rediculous when I called them. They dont like doing the work, they would rather rent you the machine and sell you the media and make your own mess at your own house. They quoted me something like $1000 for them to do it. Just rent the machine yourself and do it yourself. If you have that much cash for them to do that, you might as well chemical dip the thing.
