Medicine Hat Dragstrip on Friday May 6

Well it's finally come! The 2005 drag season kicks off tomorrow and all this weekend. Slight chance of showers tomorrow but shouldn't stop the racing. Hope to see some of you Medicine Hat folks out there racing or just spectating. Racer gates open at 6:00pm. Tech starts at 6:00pm and racing starts at 7:00pm. it seems like it's been forever since last year. June 4 and 5 is the NHRA Street legal Drags at the medicine hat Dragstrip. I think you Regina and Manitoba guys should make a road trip for that weekend and come out here and race! I believe we have 27 cars from Calgary alone coming. No trailer queens allowed. If you can't drive it on the street you can't race it. Sounds like it's going to be a pretty good time. I'll post times and hopefully video of this Friday's races. Can't wait! I'm thinking with the SFC's and Nittos, you should lop off 1/2sec from your times, which should put you around 14.1@99mph or so. That would be pretty dang good considering your elevation[do you guys have Sherpas to lead you up to the track ] Have you ever figured out your corrected times?
Won't be able to make out your way this weekend, but I wouldn't mind making it out there one weekend this summer to watch you race.

Have you ever figured out your corrected times?

, almost need them here. I have checked out my times at Modular Depot and they came out to a 13.6-13.7. I really hope I can make 13's tonight, i think it will takes some real good drving though on my part.


Nine4Five0, Everytime I see a 94 or 95 Laser Red GT I honk. I don't know if you have your rims on the car right now so I honk at everybody, they probably wonder who the hell I am . I haven't seen your car this year yet that I know of. All the ones I've seen have the stock wheels on. We'll definetely have to get a cruise together. i think i'm only going to tonights test n tune. Some of my family are coming on tomorrow so i don't think I'm going to go the rest of the weekend.

Lil' Red Rocket, I've never seen your car at the track yet. I can't wait to see that beast in action, it sounds amazing. I think I was driving behind you last year downtown. Does your car have a real loppy idle? If it was you it sounded awesome. Did you have it in the Murray's car show two years ago? I think I've only ever seen one 96-98 Red Cobra in town.

I just really got into it last year. I missed a few races last year when my car was being modded. Must have missed you. I usually go just to the Friday fun nites too. There are more street cars. That dyno at Murray's was a joke. It wasn't running good all day. Everybody that I talked to said there numbers were really low. That's too bad about the dumps, that sounded sweet. Hopefully we'll be out there at the same time this year.

Well tonight was a blast. It was aweome to be on the track again. i wasn't overly excited about my times though. Could/Should have done way better.
Oh well, I'll keep practicing. I'm learning every run I take. I made a huge, huge mistake tonight though, did not take any tire pressure out in my nittos. They were running 31psi . My mile per hour was down from last year too, does not make any sense. Still made a new best but not by a whole lot. Nine4Five0 gave me some great tips too, thanks man! My "crewchief" took the timeslips home so he can plot horsepower graphs and shift points (he's an engineer, go figure) so I am doing this by memory. The 60ft sensor was down in the right lane so I only got 2 60fts, both bad, 2.1's.

I think the weight of my new rims hurt me as well as the tire pressure. I think I should have been a lot closer to 14.00 if i could have cut better 60ft's. Oh well, back at er next weekend.

Right on, sounds cool! I hate racing on the streets too. I'm in the same boat. Only Purple SN95 stang in town, with shiny chrome rims to boot. I'm racing in the sportman class this year so I'll be out there this Friday for tuning and Sunday for points. That would be awesome if you can make it out for the first June race. I don't mind getting my butt handed to me by another Stang! Nine4Five0, you'll have to see if you can make it too!

Right on! That was the weekend I was talking about. That will be cool if we can get lined up together. Everytime I stage with another Stang they always split us up. We'll have to ask one of the staging crew to make sure they let us do it. That's the same weekend as the Three Hills car show. That's going to be huge.

I KINDA WANT TO RUN A COUPLE TIMES AT THE TRACK AND THEN TAKE IT "EASY" ON THE MOTOR TO KEEP FROM FRAGING THE WHOLE THING. GOT BLOWER BUT CAN'T AFFORD THE BOTTOM END AT THE MOMENT. I ALSO SEEN YOUR PURPLE SN 95 ON THE OVER PASS BY THE CLIFF ONCE ABOUT A WEEK AGO, LOOKS REAL GOOD WITH THE WHEELS AND PIPES OUT BACK I JUST GOT TO KEEP POSITIVE THAT ATI WILL GET BACK TO ME ABOUT THE P-1. ALL IT HAS TO DO IS BE FASTER THAN MY BUDDIES 454 CHEV. BEAUMONT. THAT'LL GIVE ME BRAGGIN' RIGHTS AT THE SHOP.
