yes the "wheel" is more powerful, and i think any beginner should start with something small, like the PC, then work your way up. With the right polishes and stuff the PC can work wonders, just as a "wheel" the good thing about the PC is that there is soooo much of an "aftermarket" for them, so many pads out there...and they're cheap too...

Now come on...2seconds? That takes some real stupidity. I burned one car last summer, it was the front bumper of a used BMW....it didnt reduce the speed from coming off of the metal body parts. It burned the paint. STUPID move on my part. Never made that mistake again though

Lol, we I did exagerate, but it got the point across that you should know how to use a rotary. I've used it in the past with success, but I've seen people make the swirl marks in their paint look WORSE after using one

Yea i know Just didnt want to scare everyone off thinking it was impossible to use one. When u go to use a rotary, ya just gotta take even more steps to eliminate all the swirl marks. It can definately pay off, but it is a lot more work. But sometimes, thats what u need.

Nate, I just reread this and my post was not clear at all. My apologies. The point I was trying to make is that a PC is not just an orbital buffer.

Maybe I read too much into your sentiments (I thought you were saying that a PC doesnt do anything that a cheapo RO can't do, and IMHO that is not true). A lot of orbitals are quite lacking in quality DA action, compared to a PC.

I would reply the same if someone said a Saleen is just a Mustang.

Yea, i guess i was wondering what about the PC makes it so superior. And i had assumed it was more powerful...giving more "orbits" or something. But wasnt sure. Maybe u could elaborate on it

So if i find a crappy car to practice with a orbital buffer, what compounds should i use? say its still nice paint with mild oxidation and some hard water spots. mabey alittle spyder webbing?
