Melbourne area stangs

Hands down the 5.0, I love the torque and the huge aftermarket. My next car will be a 96-98 4.6 Cobra though, the car lacks the low end but has a mean top end pull. I work on 4.6 2v and 4v enignes all the time so I am very familiar with OHC designs and I find them pretty easy to work on. I know that scares off many 5.0 guys, they automatically think they are impossible to work on and never give the cars a chance.

lol, No, I wish. That's just some pic I found online. She does bear a resemblence to my wife, but that's about it. I'm pretty close to convincing her to pose for a avatar shot though. :D

If I get motivated, I'll resize the original and post it. You can tell that she's not wearing anything under the dress, but it's not like you can really make anything out.

get her to pose with the stang:nice: you can borrow my digi if you want:cheers:

Well, after dinner, I get to go find out what's wrong with the damn ranger. The wife had to slam on the brakes to avoid an accident and when she tried to get moving again, it didn't want to roll. Finally something came loose but there was still resistance. She ended up parking it over on the damn mainland and I went and picked her up.

I'm pretty sure she fused the rear brakes (which is impressive in itself) so there's more mod money down the drain...

Well, I'm not entirely sure that it's the brakes, but all the indicators point to it. Fusing the pads to the rotors or the shoes to the drum is fairly common in road racing/open tracking stuff where high brakes temps are normal but almost unheard of on the street. Common sense says no way, but I don't think she could have killed the pumpkin and I know it's not the tranny.

I'm going to head over there in a few and take my big fix-it hammer.

And about the avatar, the wife is saying that I should have just told y'all it was her. She appreciates that you all could have made the mistake though. Now if you'll excuse me, we're going shopping for a hot pink latex dress. :D

Me likey the picture :nice:

We actually had a 99 ranger in where the rear drums had fused. Dear god did we have to hit that drum cover with the BFH about a hundred times to get it off. Pretty screwed up mess in there when we finally pulled it off also.

On a good note I just bought a set of Trick Flow Twisted Wedge heads from summit. I got them for a pretty good deal thanks to the discount code, but to tell you the truth I am not that happy as I should be because I can't stop spending my money on my damn mustangs. No joke, its as bad as a damn crack habbit

Oh, Dan, I forgot that I still have the mad tyte forign legion hat for you. It's been so long since I've been to an AutoX I've forgotten about it. I'll try to get it to you sometime.

Baggy: nice pic. :nice:

Sounds more like the brakes failed to release. I would check to see if there is residual pressure in the lines by cracking the line at the master cylinder. If you get a spurt of fluid you found the problem. Could be the master cylinder or the combination valve.

Sometimes the brake hoses will rupture internally and work like a one-way valve and trap fluid in a caliper or wheel cylinder. You can check for that by cracking the bleeder screw at each wheel.

Good Luck!

Yup, it was the brakes. Nature had done half the work by the time I got there as one had already broke free. The other took a little coaxing. I babied it home and will tear it apart tomorrow. Fix Or Repair Daily... yeah, no *****.

Nice Pic, baglock!!!:nice:

On the down side the radiator started leaking yesterday:mad: Oil changer at Lane Pontiac pointed it out to me. I picked up a new one pretty cheap at Melbourne Radiator, today. It has the auto cooler hookups, I guess I'll just plug those.
On my way up to Melb Rad I almost T-boned a neon that pulled out in front of me leaving Wallyworld and was nearly rearended by a PT Cruiser while trying to get stopped(I officially hate the sound that comes from the brakes when the ABS takes over)! What kills me is that the driver SAW me about to clock her driver door and didn't even attempt to get out of the way!!!! It wouldn't have been that close if she had just punched the throttle, instead of motoring across both lanes at just above idle speed. Why do people suck?!:chair:
Didn't even have time to use the horn or the finger:damnit:

BTW, Baglock where did your radiator start leaking from? Mine developed cracks near the top hose connection and the fan connecting bracket on the same side. Bummer about your Ranger, baglock

Kevin

:OT:

94_Teal: What is that in your avatar? It looks to be niether Teal nor a Mustang. It actually looks like a red Porsche 944.

EDIT:
No, upon closer inspection, it looks like an older Ferrarri.

The leaks in yours are in the most common area. Mine started from the the lower pass side.

And speaking of wrecks, I saw an SUV get T-boned today at Eau Gallie and US 1. The ranger was parked in the Wallgreens parking lot there on the corner. I had gone to pick up Jessica, and looked over into the intersection for some reason and a few seconds later... Ka-boom! SUV was N-bound turning W onto Eau Gallie and this little 4-door car (looked like a mid 80's Mazda) came and slammed into the bastard. Had 911 on the phone before the vehicles even stopped moving.
