Oh yeah, another thing I forgot. One of my xmas presents came the other day and since I was the only one home, the UPS guy handed me a box from Classic Design Concepts. The wife got me a Stars & Stripe Pony for the car.
Now the bad news... It's a POS. The paint is crappy, there are smudges in the surface, and huge gouges in the motif. She was hugely dissapointed (as was I) and is writing some hate mail and sending it back. You would think that with all the coverage these items have gotten in the mags that they'd have a better quality product for the consumer. This really pissed me off.
For the while, I'm giving Ann the benefit of the doubt and will give her the chance to make good on this. But if she doesn't, you guys may actually get to see a Baglock scorned. Ooohh, cherish the thought.

I'm taking suggestions for any other power mods I shoud do. I've decided to try and get all my power mods first so I can get a chip burned as quickly as possible and then concentrate on suspension. All I have on the list right now is the K&N FK...um, the thing that Dan has

Pullies will do more for less money. Gears are a great bang-for-the-buck upgrade too. Tires are mandatory for more performance. A K&N replacement filter without going to an open element, open elements usually hurt more than help.
Wow, you just went against a lot of what I've been told. I do have the K&N replacement filter already, but going to open air hurts? How so? Isn't that one of the major mods done to the '03 Cobra? Also, I know eventually my check engine light is gonna come on, and it's either MILs or a chip. I guess I'll find out what Dan thinks tomorrow after he has his chip installed. And most people say the pullies did nothing for them.

i think you would be better with gears an or pulleys .maybe bigger mass air an throttle body . now that the exhaust has better way out why not help it in? i asked dan an the mil light elim. did not work but any gear bigger than 3.55 will bump you up to s/m in auto x

Yeah, I'm only going with 3.55s. I'm already having enough traction problems as it is w/o going to 3.73s. Plus, I'm not a drag racer, so those aren't necessary for me. And my gas mileage sucks as it is now.

An 03 Ccobra is totally different under hood than you are. The induction system is routed differently to accomodate the blower. An open filter will pull in HOT underhood air (not good) unless you fabricate some sort of system to isolate the filter. Also, it will suffer from fan wash which can disturb your airflow during low speed and idle, causing inaccurate MAF readings and driveability problems.
If you insist on spending money on your filtration system get a CAI that uses a composite rather than metal inlet tube. That way even if it doesn't help at least it won't hurt.
I have tried a lot of stuff in the many years I have been modifying and racing cars and motorcycles. I have a pretty good idea what works and what doesn't. You don't have to believe me, it's your choice.
