You'll have to tutor me on this stuff sometime. I love Photoshop but I can't do anything past basic photo manipulation...I gotta find out how you do these jobs AND make them look real...

Sure, I'll give it a whack. Just post a pic. :spot:

Ragin' Cajun!

Check this out.
Did it for a battle on this art website I go to.
It's Gambit from X-men.
In case any of you don't know, he can charge any object he holds in his hands with kinetic energy, then throw it and it explodes like a grenade.. or worse, depending on how long he charges it. Plus he's just a pimp...:nice:

Venom

Did this for a battle too, though I was too late in submitting it... bastards.
Anywho, it's a "sketch" of Venom... he's Spider-Man's Arch-Enemy.
This guy is a major badass.. and for all the people who aren't familiar with this type of stuff, the deal with Venom is that his costume is that it's an actual living creature. An alien Symbiote which uses the host ( Eddie Brock ) to survive, while increasing the hosts strength, endurance, stamina, bla bla bla.. The only bad thing is that Eddie ( the host ) is a bit of a hot head and, well.. he's basically a psycho, so the Symbiote is basically this massive shot of steroids whenever he wears it. He can also make sharp objects and blades and stuff with it also.. kinda like the T1000 from Terminator 2. Good stuff. :D
Oh, plus he is immune to Spider-Man's "spider-sense" allowing Venom to get the drop on Spidey without him even knowing anything was about to happen. :nice:

I've had nothing but bad luck with my car... I had subframes put on the car and my interior burnt down... Not just any interior, black interior... Needless to say, I was pissed off at the guy that installed them... He must of had too many pills that day... So the striped out interior wasn't done intentionally... Then my sister's friend runs her saturn into the back of my car when it was parked in my driveway... She just scrapped some paint off the bumper, didn't get into the metal...

tires?

I'll probably post this in tech, later. I figured I'd ask you guys since a good number of you run AutoX. I'm looking at 3 different tires for AutoX. First, I can't afford race tires so I'm stuck with street tires. Here are the tires I'm looking at

Brand: Kumho 711.........Kumho 712......Sumitomo HTR-Z

UTOG:......320....................280....................160

Traction:...AA......................AA.......................A

Price:.......$56.00.............$83.00..............$87.00

Size:......245/50/16.........245/50/16........245/50/16

Now these will be only used for AutoX so none of the noise/comfort factors matter to me. Wet traction isn't that important either. Now when evaluating tires you can't touch, which of the 2 ratings is more telling of 'stickyness', UTOG or Traction? Tirerack has a review of the HTR-Z and 712 on an AutoX course, they match up pretty close....The HTR-Z and 712 are also available in 245/45/16 for a few pennies more which might be the way to go......
Anyone want to offer their opinions or even suggestions of different tires near the same price? These tires won't really see any 'street' duty.

The treadwear number is only a relative indicator and isn't keyed to any specific number of miles. I would spend the extra few $$$ and get the 45 series as it will provide a stiffer sidewall with less flex and better turn-in than a comparable 50 series tire.

I would do a search on the Tire Rack site and see if anyone there has had good experience with the Sumitomo's and the Kumho's. I have heard good things about the Kumho Ecsta 712 tires. You might also try to do a search on Corner Carvers, but I wouldn't post the question in the forums just yet.

how much are you lookin to spend? The Michelin Pilot sport's are excellent tires, and stick like glue...but if i remember right, they are pretty pricey.

I would try and stay away from the Falken ze502's (what I run on my car). They do pretty good as far as cornering traction, but i can't get them to wear even no matter what i do (been through 2 sets already). plus, i dont think their worth the $120+ a piece you pay for them.

Of the three you listed, I would go with the Sumitumo's. Let me know what you are wanting to spend, and I'll see if i can find anything else.:nice: :jester:

That's what I was thinking, the 45 series would be better. Not only for the reason you mention, but they are almost 1 inch 'shorter' which will, in effect, alter the final drive slightly, correct?

I don't put much stock in the customer reviews, they were all over the place, from 'best tires ever' to 'worst tires ever' for all 3 tires. The tirerack review had the HTR-Z within .04 seconds of the 712. I think baglock mentioned that the 712 felt 'greasy' when hot.

93droptop: I'm looking to stay under 100.00 per tire. I have plenty of time, income tax won't be in for awhile.......:(

Well got the price on fixing my car.530. Figures its 30 over my deductible(spelling). So I told state farm to drop the claim. No reason to get my insurance up over 30 dollars.I did ask how much it would be to paint the car some other color.Well 2000 to 2500 put a stop to that thought.Damn I was wanting to paint it the same color that the new yamaha R6 and R1's come in.Its some bad ass liquid metal looking stuff.Damn near chrome.O well.I gotta catch up to Joe now.

Wow....I guess in comparison I've got good luck! I got rearended but it was by one of the hottest girls in the school and she accepted complete responsibility immediately...took about a week to have the car done and it was finished ahead of schedule. Worst thing thats happened to me recently was my 14.5 ET...I was hoping quicker.. That and the fact that the day after that I saw 3 small drops of oil in my driveway. She never leaks. Oh well..can't blame her...like 125 miles of driving in one day, and two full-out strip runs. Showing the mileage I guess.

dg...here ya go man..hope the quality is good enough. Sucks that these boards limits it to 80k. That butchers a bmp, and you know how jpegs suck... Would it be possible for you to attempt a minor alpha/whitebalance correction? My camera SUCKS with the alpha and white balance...it's WAY off and really makes the photo look terrible... I appreciate it dude! And don't even bother with the headlights. You really cant tell from this photo because of the bright lighting.

ive got the kuhmo 711's on my car, and i would never get them again. once they get warm, they are useless for traction. only good side to them is driving in the rain, but you're not worried about that. i would get the sumitomo:nice:

OrLackThereof gets CHOPPED!!!

OrLackThereof...

First thing I tried to do was tone down the amount of fuzz/glare that the driveway and street were causing.. couldn't completely get rid of it.. must have been a hell of a bright day that day.
After that... cleared out your headlights and turns, added a tad bit of color to make it look believeable, lowered it, took the "grille" out, and added the hood stripe. Hope you like it.:nice:
