Melbourne area stangs

Hey, 1Bad89Coupe, those ET's in your sig sound like Bowtie times, we need to improve on those a bit! :D

That Performer intake should help a good bit, but you really need some heads and a better cam to round it all out. :nice:

Let me know if you need any advice, I could get that combo in the 12's for ya with a little change here and there.

Hey baglock, how much did you pay for those wheels? Reason I am asking is because I just recieved a free set off a 00 GT(perk of working at a Ford,lincoln/mercury dealership :nice: ) and I want to get an idea of how much they would be worth. They are not like the regular GT wheels that are all just painted a grey. The spokes and lips are clear coated aluminum and the inserts between the spokes are painted grey. I think they are special edition, they came off a GT that had the whole GT stripe package on the hood and everything.

Them times were with stock heads, cam, intake, t/b, maf, ect (though not a very good driver). I just got the car running last weekend and I only got the cam because I paid 35 dollars for it. I got upper intake thanks to Dave, and bought the lower from summit....I also got the t/b for free as well. I just put the stock headers back on too, because a stud got stripped on the driver side header and I didn't have time to mess with it because I needed a car ASAP. Heads and a better cam is down the road aways. I gotta get a diploma before anything, as well as a better job to be able to afford new mods. My goal is probably AFR 165's, custom cam, and a performer rpm upper, and gears of course plus other misc parts and what not. After x-mas it's getting a little shot of spray as well. Takes time and money to go fast though obviously.

I just noticed your in cocoa, where at in cocoa? I'm in Port St. John.

Well the price on the cam wasn't bad and it sounds like you did OK on the intake too. I run an Edelbrock on my LX as well, they are hard to beat, great intakes! :)

FWIW, you will get more ET from setting up the chassis and gearing than you will with an intake and cam. You might be surprised what that car could do with a stock engine. That's not to say the other parts are bad, just make sure that any additional power you find makes it to the ground. Otherwise your just :bang:

I live out near I-95 and SR-524, not that far from PSJ.

Good luck with your project, and oh yeah, get that diploma, it's crucial!

Also went for a ride in Dan's car after the exhaust install. Actually watched 90% of the process. Very cool.
Great sound too, nice and deep. I was also his first ride victim.
Was funny to see a couple old people stare at us while we were driving. :D

Out of curiosity, baglock, since there is the 10% discount going on at partshopper, any suspension goodies in there I should look at? Most of it looks like Steeda and KB junk, but if there's anything worthwhile, like maybe the Tokia (spell) adjustable shocks/struts, lemmie know.

6 days and counting. :bang:

Erich -- Right off the top of my head, I'd say get some Pro3i CC plates. I'm getting ready to go to work, but I'll think about it and post more when I get there.

Dan -- Gonna bring the cam? Can you think of a decent spot in that area to do a smoke show? :jester: I'm going to talk to Gary about smoking one up after the cones have been picked up, but if he balks, I'd like to find some place nearby.

Eric -- Assuming the smoke show goes through, will you have the capability to take those wheels then?

ok, so who all is coming out sunday to see me get my ass handed to me by TJ in esp:doh:

I think I will be there to witness that. TJ hustles that Mustang around the track pretty good.

I think I will try my hand in the Novice class tomorrow. I was there for the practice session today and had some fun. I might do OK if I slow down a bit and stop over-driving my slippery-assed street tires.
