Melbourne area stangs

Well it wasnt the hp gain I was hoping for but the car is running better all around.Well it turns out that the old program hated the x-pipe and TB.It lost power.Well after two runs with the new program its best was 317hp and 325lb at 5500.Well after that TJ suggested putting the old chip back in to see what it say.Like that 310hp I did at FFW.Well it lost power.Droping down to 296 and 310lb at the wheels with the old program. So it pretty much didnt like the pipe.I knew the car was slower at orlando when I put that stuff in.So I did gain over 15hp I guess with the new chip.Pluse we learned out alot from Jake Lamatto.Like how my car has the ****box computer but can still make power from them and other things. He did suggest to get 4 things.NGK plugs,2002 lighting mass air meter, anderson power pipe, and the after cooler from vortech. He said with just those things and his tune I would be around 400hp or more at the wheels.Damn you people should have heard the twin turbo bullet he was testing. It was over 500hp at the wheels with just the turbos, tune and pipes. The thing just sounded wicked.

Oh well i'll find other ways to beat it.... Back to the drawing board. Sorry to hear about the losses though that sux.
I wouldnt mind getting rid of the vortech for a twin turbo setup.Losses? I gained from the last dyno by 7hp and a much better running car.Drivability went way up and hopefuly my little studer prob that came up once in awhile is gone now to.We told Lamatto about it and he thinks it could have been the old program doing it sense it was to lean.Maby hitting high 13's on the air/fuel which is a BIG no no on the 99 up cars with superchargers. Can you say piston meltdown. So I was pretty much on the edge with the program from vortech. It was just a matter of time befor I blew it up I think.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk or anything, but with a blower, wouldn't you get a little more HP than what you were dyno'd at, Josh? If the new GT's are rated @ 260..even with the parasitic losses and stuff, I would think that you would gain a little more than what you did. Let's just say w/o the Vortech and completely stock you made like, 235-245 at the wheels, then you get the blower on there, took it to Lamotta, dyno'd at 317 to the wheels, that's only a gain of like, 60-65 hp. It just doesn't seem like a lot to me.. doesn't seem like it's making as much as people and companies make them out to be...You can just about make that kind of power with bolt on's and stuff. I would think a supercharger system would produce atleast a 90 hp gain.. unless I'm completely wrong about something.. I don't know. Just doesn't seem like you're making all that much power for having a blower and the other little things you have.

blowers dont make good power untill you have an aftercooler on them. that was the big thing jake told us. he said josh's car was right were it should have been for what he had done:nice:

I pretty much did get 90 pluse more hp.It should be making around 350 at the flywheel. Not to mention it can take more than 40hp to turn the blower.Pluse it was almost a 100 degress when it was on the dyno.Jake said it would have been much higher if it was in the winter.Heat kills hp.See most of that BS you see them printing is in a good enviorment.Low temps and what not else.We was doing this outside in the sun with the high temps.Well the powerpipe is coming in now.Just ordered it this morning.:D

I'm back and let me tell you... I missed this FL weather. I also forgot how fun a good running mustang can be. Rumor has it that a white GTS was doing 135 down the I-95 for 10 minutes plus yesterday but I can't confirm or deny that.

On a seperate note, there's a white GTS for sale down on the A1A past Eau Gallie.
