Putting back together the lower intake. I remember everything except one hole that is just a mystery. The black water/coolant tube that goes from the water pump to the heater, and back into the front of the lower intake... there is a bracket near the back of it that goes down onto the intake manifold. The tube is #29 in this picture.

From all the pictures I have seen it looks like a bolt just goes down into that hole to hold the tube in place. But the hole on my intake (trick flow) is not threaded and I have no clue how it was before i took this thing apart. Any help on this would be amazing!

Maybe it was not bolted down before? If that's the case, and you already bolted on the intake and don't want to get out the tap set, then you can get some of those nylon push in holders from the help section at Autozone, you know the ones that hold the bumper and interior parts on.

There should be an intake manifold bolt in that hole. The bolt for that hole has a stud on top of it that the bracket goes on and is held down with a nut. You will probably have to go to the junk yard to get one if you have lost yours, I don't think you can buy these at the parts store.

Wait there's a hole? There should be twelve lower intake bolts, two that have studs on them. One goes on the back right bolt and the other one goes on the 2nd to last bolt on the left side, which holds the coolant tube in place. If you just put a regular bolt in the place, i highly doubt the coolant tube will move around.

Right, after the hoses are hooked up and the tube is screwed into its fitting, it is not going to go anywhere.

Thanks for the replies guys. All it took was a stronger flashlight and a cup of coffee to realize that i'm an idiot and there were threads way down there. Picked up a regular bolt and got it back together.

I just wonder how you did the torque sequence without that bolt? That would have been the obvious clue. Or maybe you haven't torque em yet?
