Where can I get new metal trim that goes around the sunroof glass?
Mine is rusty and pitted and will look like crap on my soon to be repainted car.

Easiest way would probably be to go thru a junk yard. I broke the handle for my sunroof a few years back, and NO one carries parts for them. I think 5.0 resto just started carrying the weatherstrip for a reasonable price... Or you could try and fill and sand it yourself if your pretty handy and can figure things out.... Good luck.

Fox bodies are hard to find in the junkyards around here.
My trim seems to be a little too messed up to save. Its missing some areas by the glass and its raised up a bit due to rust.

All the sunroofs Ive found on ebay are either $150+ or need new weatherstripping thats about $90.

Yea, trust me... I know your pain. I ended up having to fabricate the latch for mine and have some parts fabbed up by an architect friends of mine that has access to a machine shope... Good luck brotha

Sand, prime and paint.

I've done a couple roofs like this. As long as it's not rotting out, the results are pretty good

I started buying a couple Sunroofs last year to clean up and refurbish and so that I would always have a spare. My Original is pretty rusty on the metal trim and on the ones I bought the trim was in good shape but came unglued from the roof so I ended up having to glue them down and then repaint them. I have new Hinge Brackets for the front of the glass and am looking forward to sticking one in the car as soon as Spring rolls around.

I sanded, primed and painted mine and it looks like New. My glass was in great shapem but the weather stripping would crumble if you touched it and the trim looked like ass. 2 days work of prepping/painting and a new weather strip made it look like new.

The white mark on the glass near the latch was from the flash btw.

While we are on the painting topic, I did my quarter window trim/window trim/mirrors at the same time. Wayy labour intensive but the results speak for themselves.

I know i know the rear window trim is faded. Thats my spring project, I had enough of living in the garage sanding/painting for a few days. Black spray paint = black boogers. lol

All it takes is time and patience and a LITTLE money.
