SO i was thinking of upgrading to the MGW Shifter or my 3 year old UPR Blue Thunder shifter... I'm kind of tired of all the noise from my tranny through the shifter, and looking for an even shorter throw (4.30 gears coming soon, so i'm gonna be shifting a lot)

I was wondering if its worth the upgrade money and time when it comes to noise and shorter shifts? Can anyone chime in?

I'm also going to pick up a cobrabob shifter gasket to go along with it...

MGW kicks ass, but ive never tried the Blue Thunder so i cant give you any real comparison. i doubt you'll be disappointed if you do get the MGW though.

ABSOLUTELY, there is very little comparison between the MGW and UPR.

Um... The way you worded that, i'm assuming you mean theres NO comparison as the MGW is so much better?

or..

Did you mean Theres very little difference between the two making the upgrade not worth it?

I don't have a UPR shifter, but I do have a (MRT) Tri-Ax that I bought before MGW shifters came out, and I am not going to replace it simply to have a MGW shifter.

Quiet as stock, if not better. Go with MGW.

I wish they still made the blue handle so i could buy one to try out.

I like my red handle, but the blue has an ever shorter throw

Be advised, the old Red/Blue handles are NOT interchangable with the new shifter design! This came right from MGW. I ordered my shifter right as the new one was introduced and the old was phased out. I asked about handle options and they told me from now on its Orange or bust, the Red/Blue will not fit. You can try, but honestly I think its all a comfort factor. I doubt the handles make enough difference to be a factor in any racing. Look:
