I have a 2006 mustang gt with most of the basic mods, including a short shifter I originlly had a streeda tri-ax and I was absolutely unhapppy with the product. I purchased a hole new shifter from MGW ltd. This is the very best $295 I have ever spent. I removed the steeda and installed the MGW myself, and it was not only easyer to install but the quallity and function is 100% better. This should be the only shifter you buy.

Was your Tri-ax clunky as hell? It is a vast improvement over stock, but I think I am wanting to change it again. I got to test someone elses hurst shifter and it felt a world smoother than the tri-ax. Have not got a chance to see one with the new MGW.

I just installed the Hurst T1A shifter with Steeda bushings, man does this thing clunk into gear but gotta admit the shifts are incredibly short, much shorter then my G/F's 350Z.

The Steeda shifter in my car is way better than the stocker. The MGW may be better, but not $100 better. I'll put the $100 bucks elsewhere into the car.

MGW is AMAZING!!!, however being its so adjustable in throw and pull, it might take some fine tuning before you found the right adjustment. Took me 3 times adjusting handle height for proper pull as per my tastes but well worth the time!!

Steeda - Rattles when driving(because of the BRASS bushing), Clunky, Hard to get in reverse.

MGW solved all lease problems. MGW doesn't have a brass bushing, its made of dense rubber. There is no metal to metal, its all ruber at every joint. Call them they are very cool guys.

The hurst is still slopy when its in gear.

YES it's worth the extra $100. I spent 279 + 295 = 574

Where is the $100.00 difference? Last time I checked( Today ), Steeda's price on the Tri-Ax is $279.95( http://www.steeda.com/products/steeda_triax_shifter.php ), MGW is $295.00( http://www.mgwltd.com/mustang2005_shifter.shtml ). My math shows $15.05 difference and the MGW is worth it...

Perhaps you are saying that you have this Steeda shifter( http://www.steeda.com/products/steeda_sport_shifter_assembly.php ), then I see your $100.00 difference...

I had purchased a Steeda Tri-Ax for my car originally, and I have a MGW in my car. I never did install the Tri-Ax, but looking at the 2 side by side. I am glad I went the route I did.

Still the best shifter around.

I have and update

I had some warranty issues with my MGW. I called and they did not hesitate to send me what I needed to update my shifter. Awsome service.

Thanks MGW

Could you imagine if MGW put their shifters on sale? They would proabably blow out of their stock

Here's another update for you. They just got a little lighter, cheaper, and the re-design is supposed to shift even better than the original.

Oh, knock it off Nasty Your original MGW shifter should stay right where it's at.
