I know for sure the tremec built T-45's have the stops I will try to find out about the older borg units.

Mine is the Borg Warner (96)...I'd have to say that they should be used in those. It's not hard to set them really...

George overemphasised that fact that if you do in fact use the shift stops, make absolute certain they are where they are supposed to be in every gear otherwise you will own yourself.

I also have a B-W T-45. I recently rebuilt it with T-56 blockers and such and the upgraded shift forks. I didn't install the shift stops b/c my tri-ax has them. I've experienced no problems whatsoever with my trans since I rebuilt it. I took a lot of time setting up the shift stops to make sure I had them correct though.

The reason it failed to begin with was the second gear blocker was chewed up. I tryed to slam her in second and broke the Z-link that attaches to the 1st/2nd shift fork .

Man did I feel stupid driving home with the trans stuck in first gear haha.
