Hi all,

Is anyone else having this problem:
At speed, with the top up (cannot be heard with the top down) there is a squeeking noise from around the area of the defroster vents. Sounds like a couple of mice having a party in there. :)

Any ideas?

mine was the on the outside of the car.

the clips that hold on the drip rail molding on the outside of the car are metal. they slid in to a plastic retainer.

as crusing speed there would be this cricket noise that sounded like it was coming from the dash.

I would look ad the drip rails and the front cowl piece between the window and the hood. they all use the same fastener.

my ac vents rattled as well. I bought one without closable vents and it cleared that up.

sounds like its the top moving on the windshield header. Your top latches need to be tightened alittle. Then it will close tighter. Mine does this when the seasons change....the rubber expands and contracts. Its a simple adjustment on the latch itself.

i have an hard top, but like you said i have a squeeking sound comming from the defrost area, but when i does i just wash my dash and defrost with armor all, and it s gone for a while

so it seem that any lubricant would help, it look like the defrost platic part rub against the dash part.

My A/C vents rattle....I just give it a tap and usually it stops, if not, then I turn the music up :D

I'm having the same thing happen. How do you get to those fasteners?

If you are referring to the fasteners that hold on the cowl, you get to them by removing the cowl. After you remove the wipers the cowl can simply be CAREFULLY pulled off. Do not crack your cowl like I did... :( Take your time, be careful, do this when it is warm so the plastic is not too brittle...
