Im just curious what you guys think my car will run when i get through with all the stuff im doing. As of now it runs 14.6 with a cobra intake. (87 mustang GT 5spd) What im doing is im getting urethane bushing kit for the whole car. I am most likely getting a cam, lifters valve springs and roller rockers. But first i am getting a mass air conversion kit. I am getting a aluminum driveshaft, and a set of 3.73's out back. Im really hoping that i might be able to make it into the mid 13's. Dunno if thats possible im just curious what do you guys think? Im sure with a better driver in it my car would have went alot faster because when i went i still wasnt that great at shifting. Also i am getting a set of headers equal length, and a off road X pipe. What do you guys think she'll do wit this setup? Thnx Mike

Mid/high 13s will be good to go with traction and good driving.
I agree with the suggestion about the cam, the stock cam quite good actually.
Wait till you upgrade the heads before doing the cam.

would 1.7's be the best ratio to go? I dunno if me still being speed density would have any affect on it. I will be converting to mass air soon. Which brand would you guys recommend. Because my valvetrain definately floats, i can feel it.

Hey man if your valves are floating you may want to get that fixed before you put 1.7s and a cam. The higher the lift cam and steeper lobes will only make the problem worse. Now might be a good time to decided where you want to go with the car and maybe invest in some aftermarket heads. Another option would be to just get your stock heads reworked if you want to go that route. Personally, I would do heads before a cam. I am gonna use GT40P's with my combo. I have heard that with the right cam and intake those heads can make about 250-270rwhp and they are on the cheaper side for heads.

Good luck,
Joey

I think a good set of heads with your cobra intake would give you a solid mid 13 second ride.

Good luck,

sorry for the double post
