My buddy has an 04 GT and want's to buy an x-pipe for it. The local speed shop has told him that he can't get one from them, because the mid-pipes for 99-03's won't fit on his 04. Yet every catolog I have looked at says it is for 99-04. What does he need to do make an o/r x-pipe work on an 04. I 've looked at it and the only diffrence I see is the o2 sensor plugs up in a diffrent spot. Need him to find one soon so he will quit asking me for mine!

Any midpipe for a 99-03 will work. He just needs to get some O2 extensions for the rear sensors.

You've already noticed the only difference. There's an easy fix for that: just have him buy some O2 sensor wire extensions and there won't be any problems getting it to fit. It's not a big deal at all.

If you have an '04 the rear 02 sensors are in a different spot so you need 02 extensions if you go catted. For uncatted I think you just need the mil eliminators.

Sound like he needs to find new speed shop.
Any mid pipe for 99-.3 will work. He just needs to buy rear O2 extention wire

The fronts may also need to be extended. I just unscrewed them and ripped the tape that held it to other wires, and it reached.

+1 for what everybody said. They will work with extensions. I would tell you buddy to find a new speed shop if they keep telling you it wont work
