Im looking to install a new mid pipe next month,Originally I wanted to do a high flow H but they only I can find is by MRT of which is really expensive and Im only looking at using the new mid for a couple yrs then I wanna do some LT's or Mid length of which will require a new mid. So now Im thinking of just getting an o/r H then buying some o2 extenders to make the simple DIY MIL's eliminators so that when it comes inspection time just swap the mid pipe unhook the o2 extension and put the stocker back on.Does anyone see any probs with this route?Just checking in case there is something Im missing here,I have never done any other exhaust stuff on a stang other than catback.I know a tuner would solve the MIL prob but thats not in my budget for some time, still recovering from buying 2 cars in April then my boys starting school in august, so my big spending is not much for a few months.

No problem with this direction - alot of folks do exactly what you are planning to do. I had the MRT catted H, and while it's a great piece, the lip of the cat's heat shield would bang against the subframe connector of the driver's side during right turns. That kinda frustrated me (after spending about $500 bucks!)
Just slap about any ol' O/R H on it and you'll be happy. Any aftermarket midpipe, as long as it doesn't leak, is better than the OEM midpipe. The sound difference will be remarkable.

You might consider the Bassani x pipe w/cats.
It comes with strait pipes that replace the cats, so you can more
easily go O/H with out changing the whole thing.
I just passed inspection in May and may soon swap out the cats.

Well Im not sure about an x,I really like the deep tone from an H.I did think about the x like your talking about, but I was looking Pypes version of the Bassani. Also how does the pipe mount in place of the cats?Just clamps?

In my first post I guess I didnt really make myself clear,I know the basics of the mid pipes but what I was really wondering is does anyone see a prob with me buying the o2 extenders to cut up to make my own DYI mil elim's so that I dont have to cut on the original, that way when I do put the stocker back on I just unhook the extender with the self made mil elim's and plug the orinal plug into the stocker.I have never seen the 02 extenders so i wasnt sure if it will work.
