I've been wanting to get a new midpipe for my car, and for the longest time, i've been set on getting a magnaflow catted x pipe... BUT, after doing some research, I feel like i would wanna try out a catted H pipe... any suggestions on how to get one?? i usually get all my products from AM since theyre AWESOME!!! but they dont have any standard length catted H's for sale...

kinda wanted to know if i should look around, and if so, where, or just go ahead and get the magnaflow x... even though i like the beefy muscle car sound of the H

You have a couple of options if you want a catted H.....

JBA has a catted H but it's $450.

MRT has a catted H......but its $515!

OR you could buy and O/R H for $150 and a pair of hi-flow cats for $180 and have them welded into the O/R pipe

Honestly you can prolly just keep the stock mid pipe cut out the 4 cats and weld in 2 pypes high flow cats, thats what i did to mine, and threw a set of original 40 flows, sounds mean,

Manaflow o/r X

Put it on by myself in about 2 hrs. That includes cool down after driving and an oil change. Fits great and sounds good.

What is your reason for wanting the catted H? Emissions or sound?

Marco, I've got a place for inspections without cats.

Go with a mac or bbk offroad h pipe. Tommy Vaughn Ford will have them in stock most of the time.

It will save 2 tenths and get you 1-2mph.

Just preference. I have been running catless for the last 12 years. A catted pipe is going to be pretty loud, too. What mufflers are you running?

PROCHAMBER!!!! Prochamber + Flowmasters =

I LOVE mine! It is a noticeable amount quieter, but IMHO, it is just right: plenty loud when you are getting on it, or even at that "sweet spot," but I've never heard anyone say my car is too loud and I can easily go into stealth mode with it, unlike any offroad H-pipe car I've ever seen. It really is perfect. It has a slightly different tone than an H pipe up above 3000 rpm, sort of like an X pipe, but it sounds great. I noticed a HUGE hp gain when I swapped on the Prochamber.

Only downside is cost: you probably won't find one for less than $200ish, which although is cheaper than a catted H ($500+), is a decent amount more expensive than an offroad H or X ($125).

Russell, you sure do walk fast!

Car sounds great A close up idle, and a low RPM video would be a nice addition so that guys can see what the car sounds like at a cruising 1500-2000rpm.

We have the same mufflers, Flowmaster 40's

Mine has a catted x, yours is a stock H with 4 of 6 cats removed..

You know what mine sounds like, a catted H would rumble like yours, but maybe a little quieter

You also know what an O/R x sounds like on your car too.. lol

Here is what mine sounds like, this is about 2 hours after i got it done and washed the car, like i said i have stock manifolds, pypes cats, stock H and original 40's catless will make it louder but the high flows will make it deeper, and your not loosing too much power.

Our cars only have 4 2 on each side, not 6.

Yeah, i know i hate the videos where there isn't a camera man and you have to wait. I was thinking of setting it up to record on the side of the street and driving by it but i thought that would be a little much.

When i go back home i will make a good video encompassing all aspects.
