Well boys, I called him and I am going to go for it. Its an '03 with 3,200 (yes, you read that right) miles. He just had it re-tuned last fall, and it now makes 616 at the wheels on pump gas. Its not a Whipple, its the Kenne Bell 2.8 with all the supporting mods. He swapped the IRS for a live axle, lowered it and widened the stock rear wheels to 11 inches. He said it looks stock on the outside, minus 335's on the rear. 3,200 f ucking miles, I cant cant pass it up. Its spendy, but it will be mine. I am sacrificing my sportbike, my turbo subura legacy DD, and a few of my assault rifles to put toward the purchase. The '86 will be my new DD, until the end of the summer when I sell it to someone who wont drive it in the winter. That will give me time to finish the new interior, and swap in the new engine which can only help resale. That stuff is already paid for, so whatever.

Find the IRS that came out of it and mail it to me... I know it's gotta be ok because it's not corvette...

SS, he said the IRS is long gone. Sorry bud. Im still pretty psyched that this is the same car I drooled over roughly 7 years ago. Its like fate that his daughter was on my polar plunge team last weekend.

How was that polar plunge? That's something I have no desire to do.

3200 miles? Jezus! Well I'm glad you're taking it from him, hopefully you'll actually drive it, haha.

Cause I could never make myself drive it in the winter, and my wife isnt cool with me having two mustangs. My dd will need to be a practical all year driver.

This winter was weak, and its been in the 70's for the last few weeks. The water temp ended up being 58 degrees, so it was pretty much just a nice refreshing jump in the lake. I was looking forward to having to cut a hole in the ice, and actually accomplishing a challenge of some sort.

I promise, you will regret selling the Fox. I bought a 93 notch back in 1994 with 8 k miles on it and sold it a year later, and have regretted it all this time until I picked up my vert. I love the Cobra though. Good luck, and try and keep the Fox.

After I sold my '89 GT, I regretted it for a long time. I got a '95 thinking its a fox with 5 lugs and four wheel disk brakes, but it just wasnt the same. I liked the car, but missed the fox feel, so I traded it off for my '86. If I kept the '86, I would have to drive it year round as a dd. While it would be cool to dd it, I just cant bring myself to drive it in the winter here. So it will go to a better home. Im still waiting for the owner of the Cobra to get back to me on his final price. I have been holding back from bugging him, but I just left him a voicemail saying I need to know if he is still wanting to sell or if he changed his mind. I'm poised and ready to buy, so I'll keep you guys updated.

I have never talked to anyone in person (interwebs dont count) that sold a fox and didn't kick themselves daily for it, no matter what car they sold it to buy.

There is a guy that I work with who has owned 30 some cars and currently drives a crazy 500 hp Mazda RX7. He told me that he loves the Fox cars and really wants to get back into one... Just sayin...

there is honestly just something about the fox bodies. its almost like it was the end of the true muscle cars. granted they have higher powered cars now but they are WAY more refined. the fox was strickly fuction
