MIL Eliminators / SES Light On

I don't know what's going on but my SES (Service Engine Soon) light is on. The
60K service was done about a month ago and never had a problem. I recently had a transmission service done but I don't see that throwing the SES light on. The only thing I can think of is the MAC O/R h-pipe. They did install the MIL Eliminators but this is my question. They installed them on the front o2 sensors and not in the rear o2's.

If my MIL's are installed on the front o2 sensors and not on the rear o2's will that be throwing the SES light on?

This is my only transportation for the moment since my saleen has been taken apart for suspension and other mods. I figured I'd take the car to my mechanic but I just wanted to see if what I'm thinking is correct.

theyre supposed to go on the rear (downstream) o2 sensors. those sensors jobs are to make sure the catalytics are working correctly, if you take the cats out, the ecu will see this and pop a code. the elims make the signal from the o2 look like the standard signal as if the cats were in place thusly no code.

That is the same thing I freakin asked them. They just used the excuse that they wouldn't reach so they decided to just place them up front. Do you think this is my problem with the SES light coming on?

By not reaching I meant to say the o2's didn't reach the bungs.

the front o2 placement sucks on the drivers side of the Mac O/R downtubes. you have to screw the o2 in then bolt it down, which will stretch some excess slack out of the o2 harness (hopefully not breaking anything). Mac really needs to be notified of this problem, its solution is to just place the bung 1/2" closer to the collector.

your SES can be two things, and most likely is both

1) the front o2's are getting ****ty readings from the misplacement of the MIL.

2) the rear o2's are notifying the ecu that there is no cats.

which means you probably have multiple codes.

Thanks man... I'm going to pull those MIL's tonight and place them on the rears. I had the same problem on my 00 Saleen where the o2 sensors were too short up front. So I followed some advise from a stangnet member and pulled it loose from the two screws that hold the connector in place to the body. It gave me that extra two inch's to plug the o2 sensor right into the connector. I'm hoping this is the problem because I can't stand having that freakin light on. The car runs fine but I fear it might be something else. Thanks again

If you have a hand held tuner you can just turn them off too.

What kind of idiot puts them on the front o2s, I wouldn't trust these guys with my car.

Yup... That's the last time I ever take my car to that place. It's some place here in Riverside that are suppose to have over 30 years of experience. Also they were the only place that would install the O/R H-pipe. Other places were giving me crap about it so I decided to go with them. I didn't even know they placed them up front till I got underneath the car and noticed that they were placed up front.

umm hopefully i dont take my stuff there ive had my ride a couple months and my 1st mustang but with mechanical knowlegde and knowing how things opperate on vehicles i new right off the bat were to put them daaahhh, some people are idiots and have no common sense (u dont inherrit it, u dont buy it so if u aint got it your s*** ou of luck.)
