Milky oil

Was working on my oil leak which was likely coming from the front of the engine between the oil pan and the block. When I went to check my oil I noticed that it had a white milky look to it, this was present after letting the engine run til it got to operating temp.

The engine is under 2 years old and has not seen much driving, it is a 347 (stroked 302) which was professionally built. The vehicle runs fine but I think that this is a sign that I have a bad head gasket? I am not sure, but I took a video of it and would love any info you guys can give me.

That sounds like a bad head gasket to me too.

Do you know if you were running hot?

...or maybe an intake manifold gasket that slipped or maybe intake manifold needs to be retorqued? Whatever is causing it, make sure you flush out the engine before any serious drive time. Good luck.

Probably just condensation in the block if you don't drive it much. You might see the same stuff under your oil cap. Drive it for a bit and see if it goes away.

Check the inside of your radiator cap. If you see that milky stuff there, I wouldn't run it without finding the cause.

Do a compression and/or leakdown test to see how you are looking.

Possibly a bad sealing intake gasket letting coolant into the lifter valley, I wouldn't pull the heads just yet.

First of all my antifreeze in the radiator is the perfect color of green. I also checked my oil again, it appears normal so whatever it was has settled. So I think that doing a compression test would be a good idea just in case, hopefully this is just a scare and not a big problem.

Also I wanted to check to make sure my intake/valvecovers and a few other things are tight, but my engine has some weird bolts on the intake and valve covers and I need to get a tool for it, they look like either a torx with way more points or something else. I took a video of them since I did not have my camera on me. Can anyone ideintify them?

Should be a 12 point socket...Im also going to agree with the condensation getting into the oil. I would change the oil and run it and see if it gets milky again.

Sears doesn't carry 12 pt that small in metric, they may be standard though, thank you.

Those are usually 3/8" 12-point. You can use either a socket or a box-end wrench.
