whats up guys. i recently blew a head gasket do to my stupidty over tightening the intake bolts. Anyway i never had the heads off in over 5 years. So heres alittle background on the motor, I have a 306, E-303 4 degrees advanced,Windsor Jr. heads, FMS 1.60 RR, Kenne Bell 2200 etc... I don't know what the quench was but it must have been near perfect because I never pinged and I ran 10psi with a vortech SQ trim and now Kenne Bell and 12 psi. The motor ran great with the way it was setup, its my fault for rasie the head with the intake. So....

So heres my problem, the head was out .005 length wise. But there was so much pitting (bie-metal stainless steel ring on the head gasket/alum heads) that we when't .020 on both heads. Ok now that sucked I only wanted to remove .010 and call it a day. Now I don't know what part # the Felpro gasket was that was installed orginaly but it measured about .045/050. Now something tells me it not as easy to adding .02 with the orginal head gasket? Is it? I have a .039 Felpro 1011-2 gasket sitting in my garage but it there such a thing as to much quench? Also the Static Cranking Pressure was 140psi.

Anybody that can help I really need it at this point I'm not doing anything?
