Just got word back from the machine shop on the PI heads I purchased, said valves hold great, installed new seals and milled the heads .005 (five thousands) to clean up some gasket impressions.

My question, is taking that much off the head going to effect my cam timing? What about piston to valve clearance? being I am using the heads on my stock '96 shortblock.

I know ford says the heads can't be milled, but i'm sure that's because they are concerned with the surface finish more than the milling in general.

anyone else been down this road??

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Excellent reference to a thread there. From what I see on that thread, I have absolutely nothing to worry about as far as cam timing. The heads look like mirrors, so the shop I had do them must have the proper equipment.

Thanks again!
