does anybody know how to take the thin piece of plastic that holds the mirror lense in place on the drivers side mirror off? I do not thing that I have to take the entire housing off but I might. I just need to replace the glass itsself. Any help would be great. Thanks

When I broke my driver's side mirror, I tried to take just the glass out, and was completely unsuccessful.

Is the glass broken? Is the glue which held the glass in place visible now? Or was it held in by the bracket?

Sorry I can't help, so I will TTT it for you!

Hmm, I wish I could help you because I do fix a lot of mirrors where I work, but I have to admit i'm no expert on ford mustang ones. If this helps you out any, on a lot of the mirrors I fixed you have to tilt the glass as far to one side as you can to expose the inside. Theres usually 2 or 3 phillips screws you have to loosen to get just the glass it's self out. And you might have to tilt the mirror more than one way to get to them. I'm not sure if Ford does it this way but it makes sense to me. Sorry if they don't though.
