I have never heard link error.I would check all of the gounds for good connection.Could be a computer goin bad.It should at least read clean when the code scanner is run.Did you also try a hey on engine running and do the ful throttle and all?
When you check for codes not only can you search for stored codes.You can also do a key on engine running test.Most tell you to turn wheel from lock to lock and do a brief wide open throttle.It check how the car is when running.
