So I took my whole dash apart and out of the car to find a water leak and decided to take a look at the back of the instrument panel. Mine is missing lights in the "Lo Oil" and "Lo Cool" spots. Are those supposed to be missing? Are they just dummy holes? Did some moron leave them out in the past?

Thanks

As far as i know, 2.3s did not have sensors for low oil, and they definately did not have them for low coolant, so i think youre fine as far as having all the lights youre supposed to

Ya, I think you're right. I just finished converting all the idiot light bulbs from regular incandescent bulbs to ultra bright white and blue leds using some leds, 510 ohm resistors and copper lined pcb I had laying around. It looks pretty good. I wanted to do the backlighting with the leds but unfortunately, the leds viewing angle was far too narrow to light up the gauges sufficiently I kind of expected that though. Nonetheless, I now have bright blue turn signal indicators which, I think, look pretty pimp

I found the same blank space behind my panel where I expected idiot lights to be. I made good use of the real estate by mounting a mechanical oil pressure gauge there.
