Missing lug nut and broken stud!!

Last night I noticed my left front wheel was missing a lug nut and on further inspection I found that the stud is broken off. My question is can I hammer out the broken stud and replace just the one, or do I have to buy the whole new assembly? BTW, its an 01 GT. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you-Mike

I'd check with the local tire shop. Chances are good they can replace the broken stud.

You can just replace just the broken stud...I've had it done on mine but it would probably be easier to have a tire shop do it...doesn't take very long.

A typical tire shop does jobs like this all the time, it'll take them like 15 minutes and it will be cheap, like $20.

Well, ran it down to local tire shop. $36.00 with tax, but it's done now so I guess it was worth it.

Just curious did you have to bring them the stud to put in? I need to get this done to mine as well

Most shops have the studs on hand.

They had the stud. It was a $2 part and $32.50 labor. I'm sure I could have gotten it done cheaper, but I live right down the street from the biggest tire and wheel shop around. I did see some nice wheels for sale though! I really hate the wheels that the previous owner put on, mainly because they are the type that will fit any car (4,5, or 6 stud wheels) I saw some at the shop today that just made me
