Thought I'd stop by and post Hi.... Been feeling guilty that I haven't been on here much in the last year or two. Started with getting layed off a couple years ago and money getting a little tight (I can't stretch unemployment as far as I used to be able to). My job after that was barely an upgrade in pay, but that's when I was doing the work on the '78 Coupe and the 2.3L Turbo in it. I did eventuall get my old job back, with a decent upgrade in pay, but also got married soon after. Seems I'm constantly broke now and never have time/money/motivation to get out and work on anything.

Sooo...long story short: My '78 T-Top is in need of some serious touch up work, still runs great, and hasn't had tabs for over a year. My 77' Mach 1 has been sitting without a gas tank or windows for over a year, but recently got a nice coat of POR-15 and sealer. The '78 Coupe has become a garage queen, but I believe will come out better in the end since I'm not rushing it getting done.

Worse of all, my wife has me addicted to a MMORPG which makes it even harder to get out and work on stuff. The good news is this is my last day in my old job and I'll be starting a new job tomorrow with even better pay and significantly better benefits so I may actually find some spare change to dump into a Mustang II again soon.

Welcome back! I Know the feeling, I have been scraping by the last couple or so, years too. Things are finnaly starting to get back on track for me too.
(4 jobs latter).

1.Manager of a speed shop-Getting divorced screws all aspects of your life for a minimum of one year!

2.Parts manager at A euro speed shop-BMW's,Benzo's and their owners suck! 1 hour commute also sucked!

3.Tech person at Keystone (speed shop chain) -Cubicles and 9 hours of being on the phone with morons sucked! 2 hour commute also sucked!

4.Auto dismantler at a late model auto recycler-95% fun. 5% not fun.

The fun:
-Taking apart cars and getting paid well for doing it!
-Chopping cars up with a saws-all
-Burning stuuf with the torch (blue-tipped wrench)
-Smashing glass (quick and fun way to get at the door regulator).
-Blowing-up air bags (it is a law, and it is so much fun).

The not fun:
-Never ending tool truck tab
-Bleeding
-Getting burnt
-Getting any of the following automotive fluids in your eyes, mouth or nose: oil, transmission fluid, P/S fluid, gas, disel, washer fluid, grease.

15 minute traffic free commute, 8 to 5 monday to friday!

life is good

Life is also way too simple! Time to add more cars and women :D

It may be a while till we hear from Stewart Ledford. He e-mailed me a while back saying he's cutting the E-net for a while and doing some moving. Last i heard he sold his II to the body and fender guy in Ohio that's re-doing his '66 stang.

Glad to hear you're on the re-bound Darryl. Congrats on the marriage. I thought you alread were?? Any chick that likes filming her boyfriend's burnouts and erratic driving is definately worth keeping!! :nice:
Yeah, i guess being broke goes with marriage- :D And I hear ya on the Unemp. When I was on it seemed like you were a convicted felon on parole :notnice: Always up in your shorts and trying to force you into the 1st job cruddy or not. I was so glad to get off Unemp... I guess, that's the point of all the pushing

Wart... what the heck did you do... or rather, say, to get THAT sig?? :( Or maybe i shouldn't ask...

Who else has been MIA?

The MMORPG is actually Final Fantasy XI ... it was nice during the winter since I usually spend a lot of time at the computer then, but now that the weather is decent, I'm working at tearing myself away from it.

The new job is great so far (3 days in), but I won't see a paycheck until the middle of July. No more helpdesk support for me anymore, but barely a step away from it. I still do problem resolution, but also do root cause analysis and get to fix the actual cause of the problem instead of just bandaiding problems.

The Mustang Roundup is still up in the air for me. The Mach 1 now has two coats of primer/sealer and a bunch more sanding done, looks like it will eventually look decent. The 2.3L Coupe is not coming out of the garage for a long time. The T-Top is my only candidate to go...it ran out of gas during it's monthly warmup last weekend. It should just need some touch up work on the paint and be ready. I may end up just taking my Eclipse and browsing through the cars that are there. Just really haven't decided yet.
