I am replacing a faulty SPEC clutch and flywheel with an Exedy Mach 400 clutch.

I no longer have my stock flywheel.

The Exedy flywheel although Steel uses a new
technology and is just as light as an aluminum one...
and I don't want that light of a flywheel.

I REALLY want to retain the weight of my flywheel.
I just got 4.10's and I DONT want to reverse the "throw you in your seat"
feel they have given me.

I have heard from many that light wieght flywheels cause loss of low end trq.
I have also heard you have to give the car more gas from a start and I already have to do this with my Hot Rod Cams and don't need the effect increased.

I have also heard they are harder to deal with for daily driving and traffic.

The stock flywheels from Ford are 700.00 so there is no way I am buying one from them. I tried new take-off and looked at OEM sellers but NONE of them give the exact Ford product number so there is no way to make sure I am getting the correct flywheel.

I was wondering if it would be o.k. for me to buy a RAM Steel flywheel or something and put it in with the Exedy clutch.
My dealership told me it is not a good idea to mix clutch and flywheel companies because sometimes the flywheel is neither OEM thickness, NOR the clutch companies thickness, therefore they can have a problem fitting correctly and cause noise as well as other problems.

I was wondering if this is true.
If it is I am kinda SOL.
There is no way I can afford to pay 700 bucks for a new stock flywheel.

Help would be GREATLY appreciated!
