MM C/C Plates Spacers ???

MM C/C Plate Spacers ???

I'm doing the install now and was just wondering how many spacers some of you with H&R SS have used. Right now I put one thin spacer under and 2 thick and 1 thin over the top bearing. Seems to clear the hood ok but I'm curious what setup others have used. Thanks

ToplessStang,

You have to trial fit the spacers until you have the strut tips just miss the underside of the hood. In my case, my stock clearance was 3/4" (19 mm) between the strut tip and the bottom of a 2x4 put across the fenders. All of the spacers are below the plate (but I have a '98). It should only take one or two test fittings to figure out exactly what you need.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Thanks guys. I ended up installing 1 thin spacer under the plate and 1 thin, 2 thick above the plate.

I know that this is an older thread, but this is exactly what I did...one thin under and the rest on top. I must say that it looks odd having the strut shafte stick that far out of the top of the tower.

I ended up using a aluminum foil ball (instead of putty) to check for hood clearance and everything seemed to be fine.

Now, I need to get an alignment done.

It may look strange but what a handling diffrence. Let us know how you like the H&R's.
