MM LCAs - Does this seem right to you guys?

I noticed that after my LCA install the drive train has been a lot clunkier. Everytime I shift gears I get a lovely CLUNK from under the car. I know when I turn a hard right my exhaust hits the subframe, but this is different. I was looking at my pictures and the MM LCAs are longer than that stockers....wouldn't that change my pinion angle? Could that be the cause of the clunkiness?

Yes, the pinion angle could be affected, however these control arms are designed to work with stock uppers. More than likely, the clunk you're noticing is either greater vibration/noise transfer from the stiffer bushings on the control arms, a loose bolt/fitting, or you got some driveshaft or other drivetrain slack that is new.

If it makes you feel better you could always get some quality adjustable uppers and set the pinion angle in spec......or tqarm/phb

I put mm lowers and put 3.73s about the same time . and man its realy loud! when I turn right the rearend cluncks chuncks and (sounds horrid, aka the wife) but it was done at a verry qualified place. you will hear a lot more road and chassie noise with lcr's

Mine were really noisy during the first week. It slowly tapered off.

It's tough to see, but try to inspect your front bushings...I blew mine out and it felt like the whole rear end was going to slide out from underneath me when turning the car...more of a weird 'feeling' than 'sound', but worth a look...

I have the MM drag race LCA's. I have no clunks at all and never did, but there is more road noise that is transferred into the cabin. But then i have a rear seat delete too, so i hear a lot more noise from the rear end because of it.

on my car they transmitted alot more drivetrain noise through the body of the car into the cabin.

Also, is that YOUR picture and YOUR LCAs? Me thinks it's an optical delusion...
If they are yours, did you notice this prior to the install and did you actually measure from center to center?

Ya know, the 'which line is longer' deal?

I noticed an increase in the NVH from installing my MM LCA's.

This is not NVH. Its a clunk when shifting. It is my picture and I did notice the difference before installation. I double checked all the item #s to make sure they were the correct ones.

I sent MM an email so hopefully I have clarification on this soon. I don't care about NVH, I got a bunch by adding the LCAs and bils.. but I am not concerned about that.... in fact, I like it

I torqued everything to spec. I will have to check out the UCAs though...

It looks longer in the pic, but did you measure it? and yeah adding stiffer components will louden a faint sounding piece, that is a normal consequence

No, I didnt measure it, but I compared them more thoroughly before the install and the MM LCA is longer hole to hole ...

Here is the update-

I talked to Chris from MM and he thinks that some LCAs got mis marked and mine are actually for a thunderbird. He have me the eyelet to eyelet dimenstion so I am going to go out and measure to see if they are the right ones.

I emailed him the picture and he said it they should be the same size, something was wrong.

I will report back!

Wow - well anyone who has talked to MM knows that they are good peeps...now, can you get a track bar or something out of them for free for your troubles..?

Well, They said the mustang arm should be 17 13/16 long, from the best that I can tell with them installed this is the right length. I am so confused, he said they should be the same exact length as the stockers, I guess the picture is an optical illusion... how confusing..

not the best comparison, but I doubt that the slight angle the control arms are at, would make that much of a difference.
