Hey, I am pretty new to the forums and new to the Mustangs. While I am getting useful information out of all of it, a lot of information is conflicting and out of context. I have been hearing that a lot of mod's to the Mustang, while cost around the same, have a huge difference in terms of priority. Things like the MAF, CAI (? I dont even know what this is), and even exhaust.

I wanted to see if it was possible to build a general mod priority list. I know everyone has different opinions, and there are different situations that can change things, but I wanted to knock at least the big things out. Generally I wanted to stay with a N/A Mustang, just because I wont be throwing on a supercharger anytime soon, but if you have information for modding with a power adder please say so too :D

So, tell me what to do first :)

1.) Shifter
2.) Adjustable Clutch Quadrant
3.) Gears
4.) Full exhaust
5.) CAI, TB and Plenum
6.) Underdrive Pullies / Timing Adjustor
7.) Suspension.....LCAs, UCAs, SFCs, springs,struts, etc
8.) Port + Polish Heads
9.) Cams

That should give you a good start ;)

So a pretty big consensus is gears, so I can get that one tucked away

Now what about induction? And MAF's? I hear there is an issue with running lean, and if thats the case, can that be fixed with a tuner? I have an SCT tuner I was wondering if that was a quick fix for the problem, so that I could get the HP without the problems

If you get a tuner like a DiabloSport Predator for around $350, you can do a bunch of things plus

a) you won't need a Speedcal for #3 (around $70)
b) you won't need MIL Eliminators for #4 (around $50)
c) you won't need the TA in #6 (around $120)
