One last thread on this and I will get off it. After reading threads in the searches I did, the opinions seem to be split somewhat on this. ....I now know I am running the SVT Focus fuel pump on a relatively low horsepower(325 rwhp), stock NPI headed, Blown 98 GT. The focus pump should be plenty, but does the bucket need to be modified with extra holes or not so it gets plenty of fuel to it??????

Let me ask you somthin.....what happens at WOT if you aren't getting enuf fuel to the pump? Do you just loose power, and maybe pressure, OR do you run lean and detonate, i.e....scatter the motor?

you can run lean and hurt the engine.

just dont get into boost at 1/4 tank. i have a cobra tank and i still dont get on it on less than 1/4 tank

i thought the same thing with my focus pump when i went to JLP to get my tune it was way lean (the pump will suck the bucket dry)and i heard the same thing with drilling the gt bucket (so i was dropping the tank again so i didnt want to drop it a x3 time)so i went for the 0304 cobra pump and no problems now i donot reccomend the focus pump because of the chance of sucking the bucket dry. i suggest if your running a poweradder to go with the cobra pump and keep it above 1/4 tank

I already went ahead and dropped the tank today and added two 5/16 holes, one on each side. The bottom of the bucket already has a hole in the bottom of the bucket with a little red rubber flap over it to allow extra fuel in the bottom, but will close off to keep fuel in the bucket, so with the two holes I added, I find it hard to believe it could suck dry. I don't have near the demand on the system that most of you guys have. With Stock NPI heads and 30# injectors, I wouldn't think its going to be an issue.

I am curious though about the Cobra pump. What does it flow?
